Douloi izicaka co-operative limited
An organisation in need... A strong tornado touched down around the area of Mthatha on Tuesday 17 November 2020, leaving a trail of destruction all over the farm. About 430 meters of their fence was raked away by flying debris.
Their main objective includes farming, early childhood development and training for historically disadvantaged persons. They want to assist people to enter and meaningfully play a significant role in the local economic activities. Douloi-Izicaka has been planting vegetables on ten hectares of accrued pieces of land since 2016. Providing food and periodic employment to eight young men.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic and a natural disaster have posed significant challenges for their activities.
They received a donation of R30 000 from the Hope and Reconciliation Trust which enabled them to repair the fence, just as the rainy season began.
